Are You a Good Listener?
Senior Help Line, Ireland’s only confidential telephone listening service for older people, needs women and men aged 55+ to train as telephone line volunteers.
You would work a three hour rota every three weeks in the Royal Hospital, Donnybrook as follows: Friday 4-7pm, Saturday 1-4pm, Saturday 4-7pm, Sunday 10am-1pm, Sunday 1-4pm and Sunday 4-7pm. Your role would be to listen with empathy to a range of calls, which may involve loneliness, health and family worries. You do not give advice but you do support callers in each situation presented.
Full training is provided. The next Information Morning takes place on Monday April 9.
